Convex GearWrap 4 or 8 mil is our most successful vinyl for helmet graphics. For sub surface printed decals, Big Dog with K9 adhesive is recommended.

Convex GearWrap is the vinyl for helmets and sport gear. Convex GearWrap’s adhesive is designed for surfaces such as helmets and is removable without leaving adhesive residue for up to one year. That makes refurbishing helmets easy.
The availability of four and eight mil base and laminate materials allow you to decide the right construction and durability for your customer's decals.
Convex base vinyl and laminates are formulated with the right amount of clear adhesive to minimize shrinking and oozing adhesive around the edges. This will keep them looking great throughout the season.
Convex is not “shrink wrap”, but it does conform well to rounded surfaces because it has less “memory” than other vinyl. Everything has it’s limits, and a strategic cut into the design may help with the application.
Application: When you apply Convex it to a helmet for instance, and rub it from the center out, you should be able to rub out the “air tunnels.” You are actually squeezing or condensing the vinyl. We recommend 4 or 8 mil base material and 8 mil laminate for full sized helmets.

For mini-helmets, one solution is to print on the 4 mil. GearWrap vinyl, which is available in white (for thermal & inkjet) or clear (thermal only). After the job has been printed you can laminate with our 4 mil. clear Convex laminate.
Pictured here on a mini, the 4 x 4 material construction is very successful.
