We have three recommended laminates for Convex Vinyl.

Convex Laminate Pro-Shield Laminate Convex UV Laminate

Convex Laminate is highly flexible and will conform to complex curves.

Pro-Shield Laminate is more durable than Convex Laminate but is less flexible. Convex UV Laminate it the same as Convex Laminate but made for extended UV exposure.

Applications: Use Convex Laminates when you need to cover complex curves such as helmets. Convex laminates are the softest and easiest for the average person to apply. Applications: Use Pro-Shield Laminates when you need more durable, glossy surfaces. Pro-Shield laminated graphics will conform better with the aid of a heat gun when installing. Applications: Use Convex UV Laminate when you need to protect your print from UV fading and cover complex curves. This laminate will definitely extend the UV life of your graphics.

Software Settings: In Gerber’s Plot program, for an 8-mil construction if you have a Gerber enVision 375 plotter, you can use a 45º blade. A 60º blade is recommended for combinations resulting in a finished thickness over 8 mil. In Gerber’s Plot program, go to plotter settings “F7” and set the Speed to 50, Acceleration to 66, Force to 25 or more depending on the age of your blade, and Sharp Corners to 80. You may also want to try double cuts on the thicker constructions.

12 mil. (4+8 or 8+4) – S-33, AC-66, F- 40+, SC-80.
16 mil. (8+8) – S-33, AC-66, F- 50+, SC-80.

For Pro-Shield laminates, use double cuts.

If you do not have enVision series Gerber cutter, you will have to determine the settings by testing the material. If you are using Mac Imprint™, please test your cutter settings.

USE A 60º BLADE on any combination of material 8 mil or thicker.
